Atlantic - Iceland

At sea

Northern sea We pass the Shetland Islands, so we leave the North Sea and drive at about 15-20 knots on the Atlantic around the Faroe Islands at a great distance. Destination: East Iceland. Besides a lecture "Gods, Glaciers and Geysers" to prepare us for Iceland, the sea day passed as usual with lots of sports and games: Foosball, table tennis and now and then swimming on the outside deck. It's mostly very windy here, so I don't go here too often with Paul. The ship's doctor is also expensive. The pool is a steady 28 degrees, two decks up there's a whirlpool with 32 degrees. I am surprised that we are the only ones here. There's also a sauna and a tanning salon, but we didn't want to do that to ourselves.

Northern sea Since it's another sea day and not much worth reporting, some info about the crew. Are 332 people, in the service area mostly Filipinos and Indonesians, in the technical area mostly Russians. But all friendly and hardworking people, the cabin is top cleaned, the food including service very fine, yes and what one as a guest so noticed from the technology, there is also everything right. We used the cinema again today.

Seydisfjordur

Northern sea Today in the first Icelandic village I finally had Wi-Fi, in Iceland you could use this in tourist info offices for free. So then also the entire Philippine crew always besieged this area and communicated with the people back home. We were on the pier from about 9 o'clock. The place here is located in a picturesque fjord, the weather is very pleasant for the latitudes. We explored everything alone today, is not big the place. We made a wonderful walk in the bright sunshine. So waterfalls were climbed and jellyfish harassed with stones. Also, starfish of all sizes can be seen from the beach, crystal clear water. In the afternoon we had to check in again, 18 o'clock the Albatros left ... always with the 1492 song by Vangelis 🙂 After the fjord exit we saw the first Walblas and a school of white-beaked dolphins in the evening light. Great, but I had unfortunately forgotten to click record on the video 🙁
