Higher and higher. This tour will take us to three 4000m peaks, two 5000m peaks and one 6000m peak in Ecuador's volcanic landscape.

In the morning sun, we drove mostly on small roads in this rural area past meadows and fields and through small villages.
But there were also larger, annoying roads to endure, where you had to expect at any time that a vehicle overtaking too closely would pull you off the saddle.
It had become quite hot, there was little shade on the remaining stretch to Ostiglia.
Arrived there thirsty, we first drove the Po bike path a few kilometers up and down, maybe there was a bar with a view of the Po. But missing, only in the village
we came to the first beer. Our accommodation had still closed, after hours of waiting and repeated calls they gave us the door code. Everything was very simple
here, but enough for us. In the evening we strolled through the town center, as far as you can call it so and visited not the best pizzeria. In the nearby
shopping center, we then covered us with all-evening drinks and food for the next day.
It was warm early on and there was no shade on the dead-straight Po cycle path. Every single tree had to serve for breaks. You could see the river landscape for miles,
no hills, that was a change from the Alps. Monotonous straight, kilometer after kilometer, still beautiful, just different. At some point we got lost again,
hardly possible here, you think. But there is a left (sinistra) and right (destra) route on the Po. Sometimes you should just follow no signs, but rely on his Gpx data.
At Santa Maria Maddalena, at the bridge before Ferrara we wanted to rest briefly. There were a few bicycles and we joined them. Then suddenly someone talked to me,
besides funny scolding canonads among other things that my wheel would be too slow. Rudimentary Italian I understand yes still. Only then
I got with that there a cycle race began. So quickly away and to the next bar, fill up 🙂. The roads purely to Ferrara were relaxed,
one boasts yes here bicycle city to be. Much wheels we have not seen now, was perhaps also too warm today.
After checking into the hotel, we spent a few hours in the beautiful city center, but then had to go to the train station, buy train tickets for Venice.
In the evening we took a leisurely stroll to the Castello Estense, past the Cathedral of San Giorgio and the Palazzo Municipale, and across the Piazza Trento e Trieste.
In anticipation of Venice we were not aware that here our bike tour was over.
