Sachau - Rehsen (66 km)

In bright sunshine we started first to the ferry in Pretzsch to cross to the right side. After a few kilometers of beautiful meadows on the Elbe we passed Elster and the Bockwind mill after the town. Arrived in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, we walked a few hours through the city center. First we had a Radler beer in the heat before we walked past the Old Town Hall with the Luther Monument to the Castle Church with the bronze Thesis Door. Manu went into the church, then we saw the 360° panorama of Yadegar Asisi, which shows on 15 by 75 meters events from 1517. Beautifully made alive, the scenery changes colors and you can hear busy urban sounds.

After crossing the bridge over the Elbe near Wittenberg to the left, the rest of the way led us very quietly along a beautiful cycle path through the green idyll to Rehsen. Here we had accommodation with relatives and let the day and evening come to a relaxed end at the campfire. The pain in the buttocks and the back, which had now made itself apparent, can be eased with drinking 🙂.

Rehsen - Walternienburg (71 km)

In the morning, the bikes were pumped up by compressor air, with the hand pump I get that not so hard pumped up. Then it went easier first past the idyllic Lake in Rehsen, then the wonderful bike path to Wörlitz. The garden kingdom Wörlitz-Dessau, belongs to the today's UNESCO world heritage. Beautifully landscaped with sculptures, bridges and small buildings, the lake is located on a branch of the Elbe. The further way to Dessau, partly through small forests, the number of cyclists increased steadily. We crossed the Mulde and rode through the city center and past the Bauhaus. At the excursion restaurant Kornhaus we met again the Elbe, there was Radler refilled 🙂.

In beautiful sunshine, the path continues past meadows with bizarre trees and through quiet forests. In Aken we crossed again with the ferry before we passed through woods to Walternienburg. Here we took the very affectionately led pension in seizure and wandered few kilometers of road along to the Elbe. We went swimming extensively, there were bulges where the current was minimal. On the way back a beer garden enticed to stop, but we ended the day in the courtyard of our beautiful pension.
