Finland

Porvoo - Helsinki

Finland and North Cape Very early I left today, because I wanted to see Helsinki before embarkation. Problem was to find a parking lot near the center. The evening before I had researched, but found nothing really useful. Fortunately, somewhere just before Helsinki was a sign "Park & Ride". At a supermarket parking lot was the S-Bahn station.

Finland and North Cape Saved, so I could still stroll for a few hours under a crystal clear sky through Helsinki: to the White Cathedral, to the Orthodox Uspenski Cathedral, to the Temppeliaukio rock church and to the Chapel of Silence. Everything was centrally located, so I was able to take the S-Bahn back on time. In time on the ferry I was still allowed to enjoy a lush sunset. Thank you Finland 🙂

Helsinki - Travemünde

Finland and North Cape Travemünde greeted us with similarly beautiful weather. The entrance to the harbor was spectacular: Our giant pot, the Finnlady, sailed through the narrow harbor entrance and there was a party on the waterfront. Loud music, the people waved, it must have seemed to them as if 3 eleven-story houses were entering the harbor 🙂. Ok, that was it. Next time I would plan slightly differently, but scenically was the detour to the north wonderful.
